Master Kent had heard the stories about Cleeve and Otis. He had even read some of the police report that his good buddy, Police Officer John McLaughlin had permitted him to see one night while he was hanging out with the ruggedly handsome cop at police headquarters in Manhattan. Horrid reports of men being abducted, tortured to nearly within an inch of their lives, worked over real hard, and in all the cases, even raped, brutally raped by the two mysterious men who prowled the city in the wee hours of the morning looking for marks. They seemed to favor a variety of types of men, but even though the men varied in appearance they all shared a common denominator. They were all of the very muscular and physically powerful type. From office executives to construction workers, to cops, to rookie cops, guys in the military and to bodybuilders at the gym, they seemed to go after them all. Officer McLaughlin related a couple of the reports of one cop and one rookie he knew who had on separate occasion’s fallen victim to the maniacal Cleeve and his cohort Otis. The cop was still in therapy, two years after his ordeal. It didn’t even matter to the two sadistic men if the man they abducted at the time had a wife or children at home. One such married man who demanded anonymity after his capture and eventual release from Cleeve and Otis said that even if the two men were brought to justice he would not testify. What had been done to him was beyond humiliating in his point of view, nothing for his wife, his kid or his peers to know about. With that much in mind the police were able to discern that all the men that Cleeve and Otis had abducted had been released after a while and eventually recovered physically from their awful ordeal, dealt to them by the two appalling kidnappers, but most of them never recovered mentally. The married guy told Officer McLaughlin and another officer how at least twice to three times a week he wakes up in a cold sweat at night. Other men claimed that thoughts and recurring nightmares of being abducted and tortured haunted them on a daily basis. When Master Kent asked his good buddy Officer McLaughlin why no arrests had been made on the two kidnappers the cop explained that in most cases the men who had been abducted had been brought to wherever they were taken blindfolded. Descriptions of Cleeve and Otis were passed around, but thus far no one was able to point them out to the police for arrest purposes.
